Part 2
On being natural vs. using pre-scripted material

I do not wanna be a social robot!
Mehow explains the difference between using a more natural improvisation when interacting with women and using canned pre-scripted material. Although Mehow defends that the use of pre-scripted material is important, he also applies a natural spice into his interactions. Mehow recognizes that both are important skills to master and Get the Girl! is designed to facilitate the use of pre-scripted game in a natural format.
One point that I strongly agree with Mehow is that the debate on being natural v. using pre-scripted routines is irrelevant. The man who is interested in becoming a more interesting social person has to keep an open mind to learn new skills and do things differently from what he has been doing his entire life. Learning some canned material as a training wheel can only bring benefits when properly used.
The Mehow Model
After this brief general theory, Mehow introduces the structure of his model. It is a very simple one, consisting of four phases:
1) Opening (15 seconds), when the conversation starts;
2) Attraction (3 minutes), attracting the attention of the woman you are interested in (the “target”) and also befriending her friends;
3) Isolation, which to me does not exactly seem to be a phase, but rather one movement that is necessary to isolate the target from her friends and work on the fourth phase;
4) Comfort, where the most important work is done.
Get the Girl! also makes heavy use of terms coined by pickup gurus Mystery and Lovedrop such as “IOIs – Indicators of Interest” and “IODs – Indicators of Disinterest”.
